Contract for Applied Behavior Services
We would like to take the time to thank you for joining us on our long journey in the recovery of our son. It is a long process and we want to create a work environment that is open, friendly, and conducive to what really matters- Lukas. We hope that all us remember what is at stake for Lukas- his future independence in the world- and hope that you will take pride in the contribution you make towards helping him to meet that goal.
I agree to provide applied behavior analysis therapy (ABA) to one child as instructed by the therapy coordinator.
I understand that, depending on the circumstances, I should not feel I always have to be “nice” and that sometimes it is more important to be “firm”. However, I will never hit, slap, or harm Lukas in any way.
I will remember that each drill is a fresh start and it does not matter what happened on the last one. I understand that it is important to Lukas that I expect him to do his best and that I always maintain a positive attitude. I will expect no less of him than I would a typical child merely because of his label.
I will do my utmost to let Lukas know how great it is when he gets something right. I will reward him for good behavior and let him know what a great kid he is.
I will try to be SILLY! Be FUNNY! And be uninhibited with Lukas. I will remember how important it is to smile and have fun with him.
I will let Antonia and Michael know if something is bothering me or if I feel my commitment flagging. I understand that they will listen to my concerns without judgment and that we will work together to resolve them.
I agree to give at least three weeks notice before quitting. I understand that I will not be given notice of termination due to poor performance because bad ABA is worse than no ABA for Lukas.
I agree that I will be monitored at all times and that I will be video taped at any time during my sessions. Both the lead therapist and the consultants in charge of Lukas’ program will also evaluate me.
I will not come to work if I am obviously ill, as it is not in the family’s best interest. I will call as soon as possible to notify Michael or Antonia of my absence and try to cover those hours with another tutor or make up time on another day.
I agree to clean up the workroom and leave stimulus materials organized before leavy as a messy workroom can delay the next scheduled session.
I understand the importance of attending all weekly team meetings and monthly workshops.

I will complete a trial period of _____________ weeks and I will discuss concerns I have during this period with Antonia and Michael.
We agree to pay all tutors in a timely matter and turn in all important time sheets to the district on time.
We will not treat tutors as baby sitters and will have Lukas fed, dressed, and ready for each session.
We welcome all suggestions and will work to create an open environment. We may not always agree but we do welcome alternative views.
We understand the importance of generalization of skills that our tutors work so hard to accomplish in sessions and we will do our utmost to make sure that all skills are practices in a general family environment outside of sessions. Unified efforts by tutors in sessions are wasted if we do not work to maintain standards outside of scheduled therapy hours.
We will not discuss tutor performance with other tutors unless it is a positive critique of skills.
We will take care in keeping our tutors name’s anonymous should we need to discuss or post on the Internet.
We reserve the right to discuss the performance of individual tutors with our lead therapist and consultants.
We will be responsible for supplying materials and stimuli for the program as best as finances allow.

All Sundays (this is family time. Missed days may not be made up on these days)
