Dear Member,

Once again we communicate with you to inform you of recent and future events of ESOBGA.

Damages to Clubhouse premises:

During the past year there has been a number of intrusions in the clubhouse grounds resulting in vandalism and forced entries to the clubhouse. On the 9th March 2006 at around 2 p.m. a fire broke out at the front covered veranda and considerable damage was caused to this particular area. The clubhouse was in danger of being burnt down but was saved by the quick action of a resident near by who notified the fire brigade. The police and the CID have been involved since the start of these incidents and the insurance company has been notified.

However the ESOBGA Committee and a lot of the members strongly feel that the clubhouse is in need of extensive renovation as soon as possible in order to offer improved facilities to the members, their families and friends. For this purpose the committee is considering starting a formal "clubhouse renovation fund".

We are fortunate that the clubhouse is situated in the forested area of the English School grounds offering a beautiful and restful environment. Our new professional caterers provide excellent food at reasonable prices and members are urged to use these facilities offered now.

The Clubhouse is open every Wednesday and Friday evenings and is also available to members for private functions and class reunions. You may contact Chris at 99439368 or Nitsa at 99408474.

Important dates for your calendar:

Quiz Night: Wednesday 26th April at 8.30pm at the clubhouse
Teams of up 4 persons can register by calling the secretary at 99347702. Food will be available prior to the quiz. This Event is sponsored by firm of accountants Moore Stephens Stylianou & Co

ESPA Barbecue: Friday 5th May at 6pm at the English School Yard.
(English School Parents' Association)
Annual Barbecue event with plenty of food and entertainment on offer. ESOBGA is participating by preparing kebabs. Do join the committee for cooking or just turn up to support the school.

Treasure Hunt: Sunday 7th May at 10.30pm from the clubhouse.
This is a good event for all, including families, with a 25km route around Nicosia and suburbs.
Participation: maximum 5 persons per car. Lunch will be available. Call the secretary at 99347702 for registration and lunch reservation. This Event is sponsored by EKO oil
