Jade Ewen has since then been seen in numerous TV series in both the United Kingdom and Australia. In 2005 Ewen joined the R&B group Trinity Stone which achieved moderate success in the UK, Ireland, and Russia.
Jade was born and brought up in Plaistow, East London to a Jamaican mother and British/ Sicilian father. Her father is blind and partially deaf, and her mother is partially blind. Because of her parents' disabilities Jade has had to become a carer to her parents and two younger siblings.
The song "My Time" will be accompanied by Lloyd Webber playing on piano on stage with her in Moscow.
On being selected for Eurovision, Jade will become second UK Eurovision act to have previously played the part of Nala in the West End production - Javine Hylton, who sang at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, played the same part for two years. Jade will also become the sixth black representative for the United Kingdom, following Imaani in 1998, Louise Rose and Kalli Clark-Sternberg of Precious in 1999, Hylton in 2005, and Andy Abraham in 2008
